The upcoming Singapore International Water Week (SIWW), scheduled for 18–22 June, and the CleanEnviro Summit Singapore (CESG), set for 19–21 June, are expected to attract over 20,000 attendees and speakers from around the world. Hosted at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, these events will unite thought leaders, experts, and practitioners from governments, academia, industry, and international organizations to share best practices, co-create innovative urban water and environmental solutions, and generate new business opportunities.
In response to global calls for decisive and collaborative climate action, both events provide a synergistic platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, explore innovations, and foster collaborations. Ms. Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, will deliver the opening address at the Joint Opening of CESG 2024 and SIWW2024 on 19 June.
Minister Fu will emphasize the urgent need for global climate action amidst extreme weather patterns and rising sea levels, sharing Singapore’s efforts to build a greener, more climate-resilient future. She will also announce a Request for Information for alternative waste disposal technologies and the launch of the Singapore Water Centre in partnership with the World Bank Group.
The Joint Opening will feature a Ministerial Plenary with high-level panelists from the World Bank Group, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the People’s Republic of China. They will discuss the implementation of decarbonization and sustainability policies post-COP28.
