Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), established to accelerate the rollout of 5G technology in Malaysia, has unveiled the nation’s largest 5G experiential center, in partnership with Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC), aimed at raising awareness and promoting the adoption of fifth-generation wireless cellular technology.
Named the ‘My5G Portal,’ this facility has been established by DNB with support from Ericsson to provide an interactive and immersive space for visitors to learn, experience, and grasp the impact of 5G technology on both businesses and consumers.
Ericsson’s involvement underscores its dedication to nurturing the 5G ecosystem in Malaysia, demonstrating its technological leadership and innovation. Situated within the lobby of the TRX Exchange 106 tower, where the DNB office is located, this center will serve as an educational hub for customers, partners, industry professionals, academia, and government officials to explore the potential of 5G technology through live demonstrations and technology showcases, showcasing the practical value of 5G products and services in action.

DNB’s Chief Strategy Officer, Datuk Ahmad Zaki Zahid, emphasizes that My5G Portal offers hands-on experiences to demystify 5G and foster an understanding and appreciation of the technology. “Starting with an overview of how 5G connectivity makes our vision of tomorrow possible today, you will then discover what goes into building a 5G network, thanks to our key partner, Ericsson. As part of its socio-economic contribution as DNB’s network equipment provider, Ericsson has shared its expertise and technology to assist us in creating an interactive and immersive environment.”
As the primary partner, Ericsson leverages its global experience in establishing, designing, and operating Experience Centers, all of which contribute to delivering an impactful customer experience.
The main zones within the center encompass:
- “5G for Malaysia,” showcasing DNB’s vision, purpose, and network capabilities.
- “Ericsson 5G Leadership,” focusing on Ericsson’s comprehensive 5G products and services powering Malaysia’s top-notch 5G network.
- “Enterprise and Industry Applications,” highlighting opportunities and societal benefits.
- “Consumer and Home Applications,” encompassing use cases like immersive media, cloud gaming, smart home communications, and 5G devices.
The center also demonstrates various 5G use cases, including holograms, connected ambulances, smart surveillance cameras (in partnership with Axis), mission-critical communications, 5G for connected enterprises, 5G Education, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), and 5G Remote Driving.
Ericsson has been a presence in Malaysia since 1965 and is instrumental in building Malaysia’s 5G network for Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB).
