The premier event for green technologies and eco solutions in Southeast Asia, the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM), is scheduled to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from October 4th to 6th, 2023.

Organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC) with support from the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), IGEM 2023 has garnered participation from major corporations such as Solarvest Holdings Berhad, Samaiden Group Berhad, Polymateria Far East Private Limited, Cenergi SEA Berhad, and Leader EV Solutions Sdn Bhd.

Notable international participants include Arctech Solar (China), Phoenix Green Energy (Austria), International Science Council (France), and Saxon Renewable Pte. Ltd (Singapore). The event will showcase dedicated pavilions for Austria and Canada.

With an impressive history of generating RM41 billion in business leads, attracting over 530,000 visitors and guests from 112 countries since 2010, IGEM 2023 carries the theme “Race Towards Net Zero: Leadership for Climate Action.” The event aims to achieve RM4 billion in business leads, host 400 exhibition booths, and welcome 40,000 visitors from over 40 countries.

Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad emphasised the importance of climate change innovation, mitigation, and adaptation in a world with 3.3 billion people living in highly vulnerable contexts.

He expressed Malaysia’s commitment to hosting a significant event that will present innovative technologies, products, and solutions to support climate action.

“IGEM 2023 seamlessly integrates groundbreaking technology exhibitions, insightful conferences, impactful business matching, networking sessions, and contributions from nations, prominent figures, and concurrent side-events.

“This convergence will play a pivotal role in accelerating the region’s Net Zero and Just Energy Transition agenda, making vital contributions to climate action on national, regional, and global levels,” he stated.

The event floor will be organised around sub-themes like Empowering Cities, Electrifying Mobility, Decarbonizing Energy, Accelerating Circularity, and Conserving Biodiversity. Numerous Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) will be signed between local and international entities, reinforcing their commitment to the regional green economy.

Confirmed sponsors include Solarvest Energy Sdn Bhd, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, and Samaiden Group Berhad as silver sponsors, while Cenergi SEA Berhad, Polymateria Far East Private Limited, and Leader EV Solutions Sdn Bhd have been named bronze sponsors.

IGEM has evolved into a hub for leading minds in green technology and climate change. The event will feature a series of conferences on topics including climate change, low-carbon cities, science innovation, hydrogen economy, waste management, circular economy, water, energy efficiency, and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Seminars and networking sessions by the Canadian High Commission and Business Finland will also provide participants with innovative ideas and solutions.

Continuing a tradition, IGEM will host business networking sessions organized by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), and Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) for the 14th consecutive year.

To be part of the impactful “Race Towards Net Zero,” individuals can register as trade or public visitors for free at https://www.igem.my/visitor-registration. For further information on IGEM 2023, please visit www.igem.my.
